Bad News #1
We are ALL Sinners
Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God."
"Sinned" means that we have missed the mark. When we lie, hate, steal, gossip, etc, we have MISSED the standard that God has set! Suppose you and I were each to throw a rock, trying to hit the North Pole. You might throw farther than I, but neither of us would hit it. Likewise, neither of us can hit the mark of perfection that God has set.
When the bible says, "All have sinned and fall short," it means that we have come short of God's standard of perfection. In thoughts, words, and actions, we have not been perfect. But the bad news gets worse...

Bad News #2
The punishment for sin is Death
Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death..."
Suppose you work for me and I paid you $20. Those 20 bucks were your wages. That is what you earned. The Bible says that by sinning, we have earned death. that means we deserve to die and be separated from God forever! :(
BUT...
since there was no way we could come to God, the Bible says that God came to us!!

Good News #1
Christ Died for You
Romans 5:8 says, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this, that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Suppose you are in a hospital dying of cancer. I come to you and say, let's take the cancer cells from your body and put them into my body.
If that were possible,
what would happen to you?
What would happen to me? I would die and you would live.
I would be dying in your place.
The Bible says Christ took the punishment that we deserved for our sin, placed it upon himself, and DIED IN OUR PLACE! Three days later Christ came back to life to prove that sin and death had been conquered and that his claims to be God were true! Just as the bad news got worse, the good news gets better!

You can Be saved through faith in Christ!
Ephesians 2:8,9 says, "For by grace (undeserved gift) you have been saved (rescued from sin's punishment) through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Faith means trust.
Q: What must you trust Christ for
A: You must depend on Him alone to forgive you and to give you eternal life. Just as you trust a chair to hold you through no effort of your own, so you must trust Jesus Christ to get to heaven through no effort of your own.
But you may say:
I go to church.
I've never none anything that is really bad.
I'm a good person.
I help the poor.
I'm religious.
Etc, etc, etc.
These are all good things, but good living, being kind, going to church or any other good thing you may and can do will not and cannot get you to heaven! You must trust in Jesus Christ alone, and God will give you eternal life as a gift! That is it! Does this make sense to you?

What to Do
Is there anything keeping you from trusting Christ right now?
Think carefully. There is nothing more important than your need to trust Christ. If there is something holding you back, analyze your life, that thing, talk to a Christian friend about it, and earnestly consider Jesus as your personal savior. If there is nothing holding you back, there is only one more thing left to do... Accepting Christ as your savior!
If you would like to tell God you are trusting Jesus as your savior, why not pray and tell him you are trusting his son! (Praying is talking to God, just like you would talk to your best friend) Remember, it isn't the prayer that saves you. Trusting Jesus is what saves you, the prayer is just you telling God that you have done so. Here is a sample prayer of something you could say to God to tell him you are joining his family:
"Dear God, I know I'm a sinner and that my sin deserves to be punished. I believe that your son Jesus died for my sins, and that three days later he rose from the grave! I trust Jesus Christ alone as my savior. Thank you for the forgiveness from sins and the everlasting life I now have!
in Jesus name, Amen.

What Next?
What Just Happened?
John 5:24 says, "He who hears my word and believes in him who sent me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life."
Did you "Hear" God's word?
Did you "Believe" what God said and trust Christ as your savior?
Does "Has everlasting life" mean later or now?
Does it say might not come into judgment or "Shall not?"
Does it say will pass from death or "Has passed from death?"
ETERNAL LIFE IS BASED ON FACT, NOT FEELING. Memorize John 5:24 (the verse above) Today!
So What Do You Do Now? Having trusted god as your only way to heaven, here's how to grow in your relationship with him:

-TELL Friends and Family about your new life of faith.
-READ THE BIBLE daily, to learn more about your savior and learn from Him. (2 Timothy 3:16,17) Use the Bible Study Buddy App to help you in your daily readings and study!
-WORSHIP with God's people in a local church (Hebrews 10:24, 25).
